These world class trainers are offering training days before the conference. Each training course will be run for the first time in the world at special conference rates for attendees. You can choose to attend both courses or just one. Courses will be run on Tuesday, 3rd September and Wednesday, 4th September.

Alexis Allen Based in Toronto, Canada, Alexis Allen is a certified FileMaker developer with over 20 years of experience. Known for her expertise in creating visually stunning and functional FileMaker apps, Alexis is the founder of FM Design University and the president of Hyperspace Data Solutions, Inc. She's passionate about sharing her insights into interface design to empower others in enhancing user experiences.
David Head In over three decades as a FileMaker developer, David Head has been a trusted advisor to small and medium businesses, improving their processes one step at a time. As a trained and experienced teacher, David excels in simplifying complex concepts and fostering understanding. He loves seeing the "aha" moments when students grasp skills and concepts, giving them new confidence in their abilities as developers.

During this course, you’ll gain the skills and knowledge required to assess and improve the quality of your UI designs, and increase customer satisfaction and engagement with your apps. You’ll learn the visual design rules used to create streamlined, user-friendly interfaces. And you’ll participate in three hands-on design challenges, so you can practice what you’ve learned and get personalised feedback.
FileMaker Masterclass: New Features in Action (David Head)
One-day in person, hands on class addressing recent new features in Claris FileMaker Pro and Claris FileMaker Server. This class will not just list the new features – we will go into why and how you should use them in your development. You will be provided with use cases, best practice, and exercises to complete.
- Introduction – overview of new features
- Layouts – including layout calculations
- Scripting – including transactions, PSOS with callback, Loop options
- Calculations – including new Get functions, Execute FileMaker Data API
- FileMaker Server – including backup options, FMDeveloperTool, Session Identifier
Throughout the masterclass, you’ll learn about features and also understand the rationale behind their implementation and how they enhance FileMaker development. Practical exercises and use cases will provide hands-on experience, enabling you to apply features effectively in your own projects. By the end of the class, you will have a clear understanding of the highlighted features and how to leverage them in your FileMaker solutions and development environment.
Enrolment Details
For attendees of Reconnect.Brisbane, the course enrolment costs are:
- Both courses $1100 ex GST (normally $1500)
- One course $700 ex GST (normally $900)
Courses will run on Tuesday and Wednesday, and will be limited to 20 attendees.
